Kia Kaha - creating a hassle free school

Last week in Room 4 we started our Kia Kaha unit, which is an anti bullying unit. So far we have talked about what bullying is, what it looks and sounds like and the effects it can have on all sorts of people. To start us off we had a look at this cool video called "Hero in a Hallway" which you can view on Blog Central if you want.

In our Future Learner session last week Mr English helped us to put together our thoughts on Bullying and the different roles people play in Bullying. Have a look through our ideas there is some really good stuff here:

Week 4 Already?

Wow, what a hectic start to term 3 it's been in Room 4. So busy we haven't even updated our Blog yet. Worry not though there has been alot of stuff going on this term already. We have to report yet another loss to Room 8 in the Burns-Martin Trophy. On Thursday the 30th of July Mr Burns and his class gave us a lesson at Tackle Capture the Flag, beating us 5 - 0. At the end of the day Capture the Flag was the real winner though as everyone had such a great time.

Sticking with the Physical side of things we have also been working really hard at our Cross Country Training. So far we have clocked over 700km's running as a class. That has got us to our goal of Wellington and nearly got us all the way back home again. Rene Gardiner has run the furtherest running a total of 30km's having not missed a single run. Also, Angus McKnight has run the furtherest in one go ticking up 4km's in one 15 min run - keep it up guys!

Keep posted to see how we do on Friday.
